MEET KAIT

About Me.
Kait spent the first several years of her career at St. David’s Center for Child and Family Development in Minnetonka, MN. It was there that Kait developed her skills and knowledge by providing services to culturally and diagnostically diverse pediatric population. Within the facility Kait treated in the outpatient clinic, multidisciplinary Autism Day Treatment (ADT) program, early childhood education (ECE) classrooms and social skills groups. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic allowed her to gain experience providing both parent coaching and direct treatment via telehealth which she has continued to utilize as a service delivery option.

Kait works with children diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder, speech and language delays, ADHD, genetic disorders, auditory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other syndromes, as well as those impacted by trauma. Kait is passionate about a whole-team approach and aims to collaborate with children’s families and healthcare providers including teachers, occupational therapists, and mental health practitioners. She is especially knowledgeable in a variety of augmentative and alternative communication devices (AAC) and programs, the Social Thinking Curriculum, treatment of childhood apraxia of speech, and is a certified Greenspan Floortime Practitioner.

For the last year and a half of her time at St David's Center, she acted as Clinical Supervisor to a team of eleven speech therapists. As a supervisor, she created and piloted an intensive AAC Parent-Child Training program, supervised new hires and veteran staff, provided clinical observation and coaching to staff, and facilitated weekly staff development meetings - while maintaining a diverse caseload.

In 2022, Kait and her husband moved to Belgrade following an exciting job opportunity for her husband and a desire to experience all that Montana has to offer. They spent a lot of time considering Kait's next career move and kept coming back to one thing: she is passionate about involving caregivers in therapy so that they can learn alongside their children. She decided what better way to involve families in treatment than to bring therapy to the child’s home where they are most comfortable in their natural environment.
